Program Guide and Teletext Enabled in Finnish Mobile TV – Sofia Digital delivers value-added service

Helsinki, September 6, 2007 – First value-added Mobile TV services are introduced in Finland on Digita operated DVB-H network. Sofia
Digital has made a deal for delivering Digita solutions for Teletext services
and a program guide information management system. The Mobile Teletext service will
include the same Teletext services of Finnish broadcasters already available on
other TV networks. The program guide information management system includes
program information on all channels broadcasted in the Digita DVB-H network.

Both services are already known and well-received among TV viewers. “The
Teletext is a widely used service among the Finnish TV audience. Mobile TV
should provide TV viewers the same TV experience as TV at home. Sofia’s solution was the
first technically feasible solution for providing Teletext service in DVB-H
networks” commented Mrs. Tarja Rautio,
Service Manager, Mobile TV from Digita.

Sofia Backstage® Manager server system is integrated to Digita
head-end and is used for both services. Teletext service also includes Sofia
Stage® Mobile Teletext Java-based client software. Teletext is
delivered in mobile TV broadcast stream using filecast and it can be used with
mobile devices supporting DVB-H.

For the program information delivery Sofia Digital provided Sofia
Backstage® EPG Manager server with which the program information is
collected and transcoded for the mobile TV. “TV viewers have been using these
services on other platforms for a long time and they expect the services on new
platforms as well. Mobile TV offers a good environment for various interactive
services because the cellular networks offer a natural return-channel for using
the services” explained Mr. Ari Pöyhtäri,
Vice President, Interactive TV from Sofia Digital.

“Our expectations in rolling out the services are to help TV channels to
offer a refined and full viewer experience also to their mobile TV audience” Mrs.
Rautio continued.

The services will be available in Digita operated DVB-H network in Helsinki, Oulu and Turku regions. The network covers
approximately 25% of Finns. To be able to view mobile TV the mobile handset
needs to have a DVB-H compatible receiver.

Mobile Teletext and other Sofia Digital Mobile TV solutions are demonstrated
at the IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam
on September 7-11 on the Sofia Digital stand 2.101.
